What is mezzanine finance?
Mezzanine finance is a collective term for hybrid forms of finance: it has features of both debt and equity. Mezzanine finance represents a source of finance when bank debt is unavailable or unsuitable. Mezzanine provider with equity upside is incentivized to support the company’s growth. Mezzanine financing can be used as growth / expansion capital, buyouts and restructuring / turnaround transactions, potentially as a part of restructuring the non-performing loans (NPLs).
